Paesano's
There's a small but vocal contingent of Philly eaters that likes to champion roast pork as a purist's alternative to the overexposed cheesesteak — the problem is that there are about three people in the city who do it well. Time to make that four: Paesano's rendition is easily one of the best.

Philly-style Italian sandwiches dominate the menu at Paesano's, the new sandwich shop courtesy of the folks behind Modo Mio. The Arista, a sandwich consisting of whole roasted suckling pig with broccoli rabe, Italian long hots and natural jus, steals the show. Paesano's is tiny and mainly a takeout joint, so stop in for lunch or on your way home. If you're in a hurry, call ahead to pre-order.
